Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card WOWWHAT EVEN.WHAT.I don't even know. This is my first proper sci-fi novel - one not mixed with YA, and goodness me it was very fascinating. I loved all the tactical and technical detail, all the games and simulations - it was fantastic! How Orson can know all this - politics, military tactics, and general military stuff is astounding. The writing set a very certain and cold world and atmosphere, nothing was happy, nothing was right, and you are put in this sad and hopeless mood. Why can't Ender just have a normal life? Why can't he spend the rest of his days with Valentine??? Why couldn't he just be normal and not have the mind of an utter genius? I loved Ender oh my goodness. His genius, his open mind, his confliction, his frustration, his self hate, the two different sides to him - the Peter side, and the Valentine side, his endurance, his fragility, and his perspective and outlook. He was a beautifully made character. But Orson didn't write in anything that made you overly compassionate and just made you 'CRY AND WANT TO JUST HOLD HIM AND TELL HIM IT'S GOING TO BE ALRIGHT'. I have a very human view on Ender, the kind that I'd have towards my friends or something, unlike the many books that have characters that are 'tragically beautiful' and sad, quirky, intelligent, witty etc. (= perfect). Ender is very human, and you have a very human opinion of him.THE PLOT, LIKE WHAT THE FLUCK.gOODNESS ME I CAN'T EVEN SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT WILL GIVE THINGS AWAY. EVEN TYPING LIKE THIS AND SAYING THIS GIVES AWAY THE FACT THAT SOMETHING BIG HAPPENS.Great book, I can't wait to read the rest of the series. You go Card!!
WE - John G.H. Dickinson Very interesting, very different. Eery, scientific, technical and definitely other-wordly. It was quite stark and bleak. I stopped reading it and only finished it about 6 months later. But looking back on it, I remember just being transported to this new, crazily different and out-there place. It was like nothing I've read before. John did nothing to make anything in the novel relatable or normal, and I liked that, it was something SO different from anything else, so strange and fascinating! My advice is to read it, just to broaden your horizon or something, I don't know. But it's definitely something 'other'.
Virals - Kathy Reichs Idon't know why I haven't added this yet. I have read it, a couple years ago actually. Great boook, great mystery and action and crime investigation and science stuff. Love you Kathy!
To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee Wow. Not until it finished did I realise that I was settled and snug and in love with this book. I formed such attachments and admirations to and for the people. Scout is the kind of girl I'd love to have as a sister or a daughter, Jem is complex and mysterious and HUMAN, and Atticus is humanity at its best. Atticus is one of the purest, most decent and morally and ethically sound people I have ever come across. As a whole the book as unlike any book I have ever read, and has made me feel things that I hadn't yet through books. So beautifully written! Unlike any style I have seen, and I am in love with it. Unique, beautiful, simple, tragic, sad, real and lovely. Harper Lee is a brilliant person, and I thank her for such a masterpiece.

The Raven Boys

The Raven Boys - WOWOWOOWOOWOWOOWOWW. Maggie Stiefvater is such a genius and amazing human being. She is able to put all that i've ever wanted to read on paper and into a story. The story, is so fantastic, but first I just want to talk about something else. How she writes and builds Blue is just, wow. She is so human and how she thinks and WHAT she thinks about life, and all that it involves and just these little bits of wisdom and little bits of though on things that she thinks or sais in the book are just mind opening. She has said many of the things i've though or wanted to say without knowing how to write it down, how to put it into words and sentences and portray in the best way possible what I felt and thought. And that's what she did. She portrayed in the best way possible, what she (I guess you could also say Blue since we are talking about a book here, and yea, you know what I mean) felt and thought. And I just felt better and more whole knowing and reading things that I have felt, and I kinda felt like I had been 'expressed' (people say ' i wanna express my feeling or myself', and yea that's what I mean) and wow I just love Maggie's writing, she has a way with words, and just helps you imagine and create the world she has written, in your own mind. And it's brilliant and beautiful, and the words are just lovely and like a big, soft hug. ANd not just that I guess, her words are other things, they can provoke negative emotions (not about the book) like fear, sadness, anger etc. but all in all her words are relly doing what they were meant to do, to their best potential.Wow, that was heaps of words. But yea.On the book, the idea was really unique. It was very intriguing, and I didn't exacly like the idea when I read the blurb, but because Maggie is Maggie and I had read her other series I thought i'd give it a go. And everybody who loves reading should. It really is something different, or a very new take on something.Very other-wordly and all. So yea, the world and idea the story was built around was great, but that's not what made me love it, it wa the characters. Such beautiful characters. I can't really explain them to you, they are so... complicated and.. human.THe Raven Boys, Bue and her family, the people involved in all the characters lives, and all the relationships, were just beautifully written/portrayed/described and you just come to think of them as real people, and you come to love so many and care for them and all. Yea.Just read the book, please. Because you will love it.Maggie I love you, and the world and people you've brought to life through your beautiful words. Thankyou so much.So glad to have read this.
The Fault in Our Stars - John Green This book grows on you. The charcters especially. It will make you cry and laugh and connect and relate, and just wow. I want to thank John, because this book changes something about you, something about your perspective on life or some shit. Top notch dudes, check it out.

Spark (Sky Chasers Series #2)

Spark - Amy Kathleen Ryan All I can say is... AMY KATHLEEN RYAN I DEMAND TO KNOW IF ALL YOU AUTHORS HAVE SOME SECRET AGREEMENT OR PACT TO BRING UPON THIS HORRIBLE ANTICIPATION AND DESPAIR THAT EATS AWAY AT YOU TO ALL OF YOUR LOYAL, INNOCENT READERS!! I'VE BECOME VERY ATTACHED TO EVERYBODY AND I JUST HOPE ALL MY BABIES ARE OKAY AND WELL AND I REALLY DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS SOME KIND OF LOVE TRIANGLE YOU HAVE SET UP AMYY?? YEA, SO JUST... I REALLY DON'T THINK THIS WHOLE THING I'VE GOT GOING FOR ME - ALL THIS READING - IS ACTUALLY HEALTHY, BUT SERIOUSLY IT'S LIKE AN ADDICTION.SUCH A GOOD BOOKREAD GLOW FIRST, BECAUSE YEA THAT WOULD BE STUPID TO NOTAND, REALLY.. Clockwork Prince - Cassandra Clare OMG.This series.... I love you cassie baby shhhhhh it's okay i'm sorry I love you)
Allegiant - Veronica Roth WOW... amazing ending! Opens up lots of doors that Roth could take for the 3rd book.. gosh, I feel like writing my own version! But i'm curious what she wil do with the 3rd book,I reckon there is heaps to do for the 3rd book for it to satisfy, she left a very open ending for the 2nd book and whatever door she takes for the 3rd, theres going to a massive room with some pretty intricate objects in there. Do you get what i'm saying? There's so much to write and so much to build up for her to reach the ending that she has knowningly set up for herself to finish with. All this about a completely different world exisiting outside the fence, an undercover spy who works for the outside who they now have to investigate, all this truth to uncover and then deal with. Are they going to venture to the outside? Or will it not be venturing but so much as exploring? There's so much ground that Roth has to cover here and i'm quite worried that she won't! I don't think I could bear such a series opening the wrong door! Oh, and titles... hmmm.. I wouldn't be too shocked actually if she completely abandoned her 'gents' for something different and new. Since this journey is going to be new and alien to both us and Tris. But I shouldn't be so harsh on Roth, she is such a great writer for giving us this original, amazing series! Good luck with it.Please give me your opinions on these thoughts, would like to hear 'em. :)
Finale - Becca Fitzpatrick Amazing ending just perfect. I think the first is always the best, but for the fourth in a series, it's very fantastic actually. It's very intense, and there's a shit load of suspense and action and cool shitAnd steamy moments with my two babies who I love omgomg Patch you're awesome, you know that right??? Okay, good.Quite a good read, very supernatural and other-wordly and.... eery.dark, mysterious, intense, passionate and capturing.Reccommend? Of course! Just don't be a stupid and read this before the other 3 okay? x
Across the Universe - Beth Revis Loved this book! Great YA science fiction novel. In set in space on a big ship, has cryogenics and other fancy schmancy tech, has romance, mystery, depth, action. The characters are beautiful. She has built them up so well and made them interesting and unique. She tells you their stories and what they've been through and what made them who they are.I loved how you kept on finding out bits and pieces of info and history and eventually you have completed the puzzle and it's just like BAM! It all actually meant something and has some weight and purpose in the novel/trilogy.Gorgeously put together and built up and written.Cover is beautiful! ugh, it's aslfhg;dfs. It's the first in a trilogy which just keeps on getting better.5 STARS IS DESERVED AND EARNED. Loved it and love the trilogy. I recommend to anybody. xx
Clockwork Angel - Cassandra Clare oh, this book looks cool and pretty. I should buy it, and read it, and then put it back on my shelf and carry on with my life.(Cassie: lol sorry babe that ain't gonna flyy ;) mwahahahahahaha )Jem, Will, Tessa I love you so much never die and just love eachother okay?? I don't know if I should.
Crossed - Ally Condie I don't know if the following sentence is classified as a spoiler? It's just a really basic overview of what happens. REALLY BASIC.Nothing really happened in this book. There was a extremely long journey, a reuniting but then a seperation and that's it. Other things happen along the way, in the journey. Expendables die, bla bla. But I do think it was necessary for the set up of the next book: REACHED - the final book in the trilogy. Which should hopefully be amazing. I loved the first one and totally recommend it, the idea was unique and brilliant and the world-building was done superbly. So yea. Read all the books, I bet they're fantastic as a whole. Not individual parts (which is why I gave this book 3 stars instead of 2. You can't blame it for being a bridge from the 1st book to the 3rd book. It was necessary).

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Book 1)

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - J.K. Rowling, Mary GrandPré Jo, I have to thank you for making such a wondrous world come to life. Please excuse my lateness in reading the Harry Potter books, but my parents didn't allow much 'witchcraft' into my childhood. All the friendship and bravery and unity and all this good stuff was awesome. I can't wait to read the rest of the series, i'm so excited!! I can feel already myself being sucked into and consumed by this magical fictional world and the want to be a part of it, which I guess could be labelled unhealthy, but oh well it;s all good fun and is why I love books. What a journey this is going to be! Thanks again Jo :) xx

Eragon (Inheritance Cycle Series #1)

Eragon - Christopher Paolini erhmmm, I loved the idea of this whole new world with dragons and magic and all, , but I got stuck in the middle. The journey was just tooooo long for me I was really impatient for some action and some real.. set up for the next book I guess? It's a bit slow that's all I can say, but i'm looking forward to the rest of the series!

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane - Bagram Ibatoulline, Kate DiCamillo I read this about 5 years ago? Absolutely adored it, even the my brain was not very open to all the meaning and surrealism. I want to read it again. My child mind has probably boasted about it as the little shallow thing that it was, but I do believe that it is a great book!
